SEAN THOM - HEAD COACH/QB'S
Sean Thom is entering his first season leading the Trojans football program.  This will be Thom's 10th season in both education and coaching.  Prior to his time at Lassiter, Thom served 2 years as the Head Football Coach at Mayville State University, a member of the NAIA.  Before heading to the collegiate ranks, Thom served as Defensive Coordinator at numerous AAAAAA high schools in GA including Kennesaw Mountain, Gilmer, and North Forsyth.  He also served as Head Football Coach at McCormick High School in South Carolina where they advanced to the Quarterfinals of the Class A SCHSL Playoffs.  He kicked off his coaching career at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL where he served as the Defensive Graduate Assistant & Outside Linebacker's coach.
Prior to his coaching career, Thom was blessed to have served as a member of the Faulkner University football team from 2007-2009.  During this time, Thom was named a 3-time All-American over the course of his career (1 AFCA, 2 VSN Sports) and led the nation in tackles as a junior.  Also, Thom was a 3-time NAIA Academic All-American.  At the conclusion of the 2007 football campaign, Thom was named the "Champion of Character" award winner for the Mid-South Conference.  Prior to his football career, Thom played baseball at North Dakota State University under Coach Mitch McLeod.
A native of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Thom earned both his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education in Physical Education from Faulkner University (AL).  Thom graduated Summa Cum Laude and was named Valedictorian of his graduating class.  Thom is married to Samantha, who serves as a Special Education teacher and Head Volleyball Coach at Fellowship Christian School.  They are blessed to have one son, 4-year old Gunnar.

About Coach Johnson

Coach Mike Johnson entered his first full season as a high school football coach and educator in the fall of 2020 after developing a passion for coaching youth and high school football, specifically the offensive line.

 

Coach Johnson graduated from the University of Alabama where he was a 3 year starter for the Crimson Tide football team. He was named an All American and team captain for the 2009 National Championship team after blocking for Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram. He moved to Atlanta in 2010 after being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons where he spent 5 seasons.

 

Coach Johnson is currently pursuing his Masters in Secondary Education while enjoying his first year as a full time educator where he teaches weight training. Coach Johnson’s wife, Lindsey Johnson (Pritchard), is currently also employed at Lassiter High School where she is a school counselor.
